Darwin Aviation Museum - Friable Asbestos Removal from Aircraft Components

Asbestos products were once used extensively for heat shielding in Aircraft, thus making it is necessary to safely remove before de-commissioning. Darwin Asbestos & Demolition (DAD) was recently contracted by the Darwin Aviation Museum to remove friable asbestos insulation/gaskets from several aircraft and ground support equipment.

To reduce the removal cost and eliminate any disturbance of the asbestos materials, the engine nacelles were sprayed internally with PVA, plastic wrapped, and disposed as a complete assembly.
